One Root, Two Paths: How MNL Group Has Evolved

More than 15 years after starting as a research project, MNL Group now consolidates two paths sharing the same scientific origin: Human Health and Aqua Health & Performance.

It all began in 2006, with an international research consortium focused on human health derived from maqui, the wild berry native to the forests of southern Chile. In late 2010, MNL Group was formally founded. More than 15 years later, the company is consolidating something it has been building since the very beginning: the certainty that human health, animal health, and environmental health are deeply connected.

That principle, which at MNL Group we call One Health, now has a concrete expression in the company's structure: two business units, each with its own identity, each consolidated globally, sharing the same scientific origin.

Human Health: global consolidation

MNL Group began with a focus on developing standardized maqui berry extracts for human health, and that first stage laid the groundwork for everything that came after. The Human Health portfolio —Delphinol®, MaquiBright®, Maqui XT® and Freeze-Dried Maqui Berry Powder — now offers different maqui berry formats for the global supplement industry. Delphinol® and MaquiBright®, its two extracts backed by their own clinical research, are present in more than 35 brands worldwide, with presence in the United States, Latin America, Europe, and Asia. Well-established supplement companies have incorporated these ingredients across categories as diverse as metabolic health, eye wellness, and skin health —evidence that the science behind Chilean maqui berry has real, validated application in demanding markets.

This consolidation did not happen on its own. It rests on a value chain that begins in the native forests of southern Chile, where wild-harvesting communities work under responsible management practices, and continues through standardization and traceability processes certified under GMP, HACCP, and ISO standards, with UEBT verification supporting the responsible origin of the fruit.

From human science to animal health: a natural path

The scientific validation behind that research led, in 2013, to a different question: could the same scientific concepts support the health and well-being of other species? That is how the project aimed at contributing to health management in the salmon industry was born, later becoming Futerpenol®.

For more than a decade, that development advanced alongside the human health division: commercial scale-up, a scientific advisory committee, and national and international patents between 2016 and 2024. Today, that trajectory is consolidated under its own identity: Aqua Health & Performance. Its portfolio has expanded with solutions such as FWXT® , FuterCoho® , and FutermaquiXT® , designed for different species and production stages within aquaculture and salmon farming.

The change is not cosmetic. Aqua Health & Performance better reflects what this unit represents today: non-pharmacological solutions focused on animal well-being and productive performance in aquaculture and salmon farming, with an emphasis on immune modulation and on helping reduce antibiotic use. Bioresilience —an organism's ability to maintain balance in the face of environmental and health-related stress— is now the concept that best describes where this business unit is headed.

A brand that reflects who we are today

This new stage is not just a different name for one of our business units. It is an image that seeks to more clearly represent who we are: a Chilean company that researches, produces, and exports science from a fruit native to Patagonia, with presence across North America, Europe, Asia, and Latin America through its global partner network.

Science remains our starting point. Sustainability, the way we put it into practice. And this new stage, the way we tell that story today.
